on an insulin resistant diet what can you DRINK?
Posted on Jan 29, 2010 under pcos insulin resistance | 2 Commentsok I know I asked about food but now about drinking
anyway, I am attempting to put together a diet because I have pcos and insulin resistance.
it’s gonna be tough.
what can I drink? other than water
water is very bland. obviously I can’t have sodas.
what about sugar free fruit juices? or juiceboxes?
what about bottles of water with crystal light or koolaid pouches? are those things ok?
I don’t have PCOS, so take this with a grain of salt. I’m a T2D, and I find that I can drink many of those things.
Crystal Lite packets, many of the flavored waters (Check the carb content, some are awful for you!), sobe LifeWater is pretty good, unsweet tea, flavored green teas (without the sugar, I use the single teabags), diet sodas. Ocean Spray has a diet Cranberry and CranGrape juice, these are the only juices I’ve tried, as they’re low carb. Most fruit juices have a ton of carbs and sugar, and so aren’t great for the insulin resistant.
Good luck.

juiceboxes and ALL non-sugar free juices are loaded with hi fructose corn syrup.
Crystal light is sweetened with nutrasweet. Don’t know about koolaid.
What about adding small amounts of regular juice to water (ie watering down the juice)?
My mom adds reg. cranberry juice to 2/3 cup water all the time.
