Posted on Apr 18, 2009 under diabetes medication | 3 Commentsi have diabetes im not big i weight 150 i am currently taking bitchcontrol, and i want to loose at least ten to fifteen lbs.. my question iss…
1. do the birthcontrol affect the medicine im taking for the diabetes?
2. does taking all of these things diabetes medication adn birthcontrol and green tea diet pills affect n e thing?
Yes and yes
Some birth control pills can affect glucose levels (I believe it's those with estrogens). This was more of a problem 20 years ago when the hormones in th pills were much higher. Even those those levels are lower, some women still have glucose difficulties.
Some women can have a harder time loosing weight on these medications. It's not impossible. As for whether or not green tea extract is a problem, you should ask a pharmacist about it's ingredients. Some formulations contains stimulants (which will affect your glucose levels, not sure if it affects birth control or not).
Other formulations are mostly placebos and have no real effect at all except to make the dieter think they are getting "help" (the number one cause of diet failures with diet pills is the dieters expectation that they do not have to do anything different to loose weight other than take the pills – read the instructions with the pills and you will find out that weight loss guarantees are dependent on the person actually dieting and/or getting exercise).

You're taking bitchcontrol ?
It is important to use birth control when you have diabetes. Talk to your endo and/or gyn.
