I'm taking metformin as a treatment for pre-insulin resistance in order to get pregnant. Advice?
Posted on Jan 09, 2009 under insulin resistance | 2 CommentsI'm taking metformin 1 1/2 pills 3 times a day. Does any one have an informed opinion on how important this can be towards me getting pregnant or is my doctor just torturing me? ![]()
My ovulation and fertility is normal. I did in vitro so ovulation is not a factor just getting them to stick is.
My husband is low on sperm and my doctor said that under normal circumstances I should have been able to get pregnant.
Hey i am on this as well. Got my first period in years yay me! I have read somewhere that met is good for helping them to stick. So i am sure that's why she has put u on it. As for ur hubby he needs to stay away from hot baths an tight clothes lol. GL

It has been found that metformin can help regulate your cycle and potentially help you to ovulate. I am actually taking it right now myself and I do not have any signs of diabetes. My cycles were very irregular and long before and I wasnt ovulating. I have been on it for about 3 months now and my cycle is now normal and I have been ovulating again.
