how can iget diabetes medications without insurance?

Posted on Dec 09, 2008 under diabetes medications | 10 Comments

Sometimes drugs are provided free from the drug companies. Call your doctor and ask about the drug programs available to you. It is difficult to get insulin if you are taking that.

Research a ketogenic diet. Eating foods low on the glycemic index will help diabetics control their blood sugar with less medication.

Check to see if you qualify for Medicaid, and if that doesn't work you can try seeing if the companies that make your medicine will help you.
    Good luck!

my husband had this same problem. we went in and talked to my doctor who was willing to see us without charge. he turned us over to one of his nurses who checked around and found someone who could help us. we had to show proof of income. once that was done we were contacted to come in and pick up my husbands medication for diabetes. there was no charge for it. so my advice is to check with your family doctor and see what he/she can do to help you.

If you live in the US your doctor may be able to provide samples. Your local pharmacy may also have information on which drug companies will supply medication and syringes to those without insurance. Also try this site. http://www.pparx.org. It is a partnership prescription Assistance program that many drug companyies participate in and you could all your medication up to 100% free.
